Who is Asa Mitaka in Chainsaw Man 2?
Asa Mitaka is the protagonist of Chainsaw Man Part 2. After the events of the Public Safety arc, the character is residing in a world where people have an interest in devils, sentient creatures that manifest from human fears. Asa Mitaka distances herself from her high school class when their teacher brings a Chicken Devil named Bucky. Asa initially hates the harmless pet since her parents were eaten by a devil. There is a War Devil that reassembles Asa’s body and forms scars on the student’s face. The devil can create weapons out of anything that it touches. After turning Tanaka’s spine into a sword, it kills the Justice Devil using a grenade made out of the opponent’s hand. Fujimoto hasn’t clarified if Asa is a fiend or a hybrid. However, chapter 99 does mention that she can have her own consciousness because the War Devil left half of her brain intact. The War Devil claimed her body as she goes to the same high school as Chainsaw Man as its main target. With the War Devil promising to give back Asa’s body once they defeat the Chainsaw Man, the student signs up for the Devil Hunter club as they look to find the vigilante devil.
The personality of Asa Mitaka
Asa Mitaka is initially unsociable and lonesome but shows a more joyous side once she is briefly accepted by Bucky and her classmates. After she merged with the War Devil, Asa becomes a bit more self-aware and vocal about what she wants and has to do. Instead of just going along with the devil’s chaotic behavior, she stands her ground and denies requests as she looks to reclaim her regular life.
